👍 #53 Super quality close-up footage. So many beautiful species were captured so well. and to have Sir David Attenborough narrating is just perfection. In my opinion, Nature and the Wildlife & Birds within are the Greatest Free Show on Earth - if you have a little patience and 'see' what is around you. A wonderful share, well done guys and thank you. 👍◕‿◕

The vast majority are set up just like movie scenes are set up in Hollywood. They do a great job at making it seem very believable but the truth is the majority of "nature" docs that capture living things in their "natural habitat" are merely movie sets with different species brought in and put into thousands of different scenes to try and emulate their actual way of life.... You think the camera crew just so happened to be there the very day those two colonies discovered each other? Decades went by without the two being any of the wise. It's very believable and crews will go to insane lengths to make it as real as possible. I honestly would have never really known without family members that work for both Discovery and National Geographic. Nothing too crazy like actual biologists or anything. My parents actually met each other on set, both working for many different film crews under mainly NatGeo. Father did pretty well as a camera operator and had an opportunity to run his own crew for discovery for awhile. Tons of crazy experiences and crazier stories. The lengths that some of these crews went to to make it seem as genuine as possible is nuts with neverending budgets. When it comes to real vs fake, 99.9% of everything captured in the major oceans are all real. That's why you see those film crews constantly winning awards and even major recognition from top places of study across the world and they certainly deserve every bit of it. Being one of the major nature film crews for anything dealing with the ocean takes a very special person, I'd personally never be able to live that life. It's like 110% pure dedication.

Can you imagine, like, hearing your doorbell and answering it but this bird flies into your house and steals some Cheerios instead of there being someone at the door. Then like 10 minutes later you hear your son calling for you from outside so you open the door and the same bird flies in and takes the piece of bread you were in the middle of making a sandwich with. This is the life of the meerkats.
