I remember being in college and playing on a basketball court and hearing that this game just happened and thinking there's no way that can be right. It's just mind blowing. I never thought we'd see anything in the modern era even approach Wilt's scoring record, and here's Kobe's second-half performance being 55. I remember he got seriously injured last time he played the Raptors and this was his first game back against them. So, you know with his mentality that he had been visualizing destroying them and getting his pay back. And that's exactly what happened.

One of the most dominant performances I've ever seen in the NBA on live television. What makes it more impressive is that Toronto was no slouch! Today marks the 2nd anniversary of The Mamba's passing... As much as I admire him on the court for his ball skills during his playing career, I admire him more after his retirement when I got to know better his work ethic, determination and his relentlessness through his mamba mentality and was just starting to let him be my motivation for everything I approach in life... His leagacy will live on... RIP Mamba.... Side note: my mid range game somehow always get better whenever I watch his game highlights 😂🤣😂

Same and as great as Kobe was from start to finish, it hurts me that he didn't get to see his statue revealed at "STAPLES" immediately. He stayed with us so(I personally feel) that should have been in the works for him before his final season ended.

me too...but hearing all the current pros talk about lil mamba stories or how things he said have STUCK with them lifelong, or the GREATS talk about kobe does help soften the blow of never hearing him talk about being in the HOF/his Grind. Too many casuals forget he had to EARN his way onto the court, work and earn his MINS from day 1. VS the MAJORITY of lottery picks that come into the league DAY 1 shooting 20FGA off top. The OLD heads....recognize this, almost MORE than his great plays/numbers/5 rings. To not start/come off the bench...to end as a 20 year franchise player with 5 rings 18 allstar selections. ETC.

The difference between Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan is what they meant outside of the Court. Michael Jordan was a jerk, Kobe Bryant was a very giving individual. If Michael Jordan had died five years after he retired, I don't think as many people would be taking it as hard as they have Kobe's death. There were sportscasters in every level and news anchors that could not keep their composure on air when the news was fresh that day. There's so many people that he impacted in such a short amount of time. You even had Jimmy Kimmel do a whole show dedicated to him. I've never seen Jimmy that upset.

I'm sorry, but this is pathetic as a fan of the team lol. That's like Falcon's fans being honored to blow the biggest SB lead ever. Just say you were happy to experience the moment, despite the loss.

@A7xFo fans are just as relevant to a team’s success than the organisation’s internals are. We give them the money they need to provide us w/ ball. If we didn’t buy jerseys, tickets, merch, etc, do you really think they’d be ok w/ not bringing in billions of dollars every year? We, the fans, contribute greatly to a team, whether you see that or not. Negativity aint a good look for u brah, cheer up and be apart of something, or don’t, that’s yo volition

I watched this game and was blown away when it was happening, but it did feel like everyone on the court was helping once he hit 60 Even if that was the case it’s was incredible to watch

Crazy it's been 16 years ago I watched this game by accident lol as a 12 year old..... staying up to watch Bron n Cleveland meanwhile flipping the channel watching reruns of Cowboy Bebop on Adult swim......I remember watching Kobe give Toronto the business n really 🤔 that he really could have gotten Wilt's record...truly a 🐐 caliber player n I miss him playing...rest in power, Mamba!!!

watching these highlights as a kid I always focused on the 81 points but now I'm amazed he single-handedly brought his team back from a 15+ point deficit to win the game

@Chiarosu Burekeni There is no such thing as playing half@ss in pro sports. People pay to come see you play, so it is your job to put up the offense for them to enjoy...

@Chiarosu Burekeni You keep scoring until the clock hits 0. The other team will be doing the same thing

@Chiarosu Burekeni It's not stat padding. The last 5 points maybe, but up until then Raptor starters were still in the game. Proper etiquette is to wait until the losing team gives up by pulling their starters before you pull yours. The Raptors were fouling Kobe at the end to stop the clock so they can switch their bench in.

*_Isaiah 53.3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth._* _Jesus Christ loves you. Repent and be saved. Only Jesus Christ saves. God bless you, and the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you and your family...._

@David G If you actually give me evidence that "Kobe raped a 19 year old girl", then I would believe you. Apparently, you only care about one "bad" thing he did, which means all of the good things he did hardly mattered to you. You're just slandering him instead of just letting him and his daughter rest in piece.
