This animation reminded me of a poem I had read long back- 'The Cold Within' by James Patrick Kinney. Though, the poem and this short are not identical, the ideas of intolerance, self-sacrifice- or lack thereof, violence, followed by ultimate demise really brought back the nostalgia. What I love is that, you used the word 'timber', which encompasses a wide range of hardwood trees, including birch, which is a symbol of tolerance and sustainability. At the same time, timber is a commonly used firewood as well as finds use in the furniture industries. So, timber is usually undergoing stresses of the heavy machinery or, scorching in the fiery flames. So, timber, as a whole, is a reminder of both sustainability and violence. Using the word 'timber', brings about the fact that, just how not all people are the same, the trees are also very different- they can be greedy, altruistic , brave, cowardly and so on. Anyway, good job, guys! Loved it. ❤

From what I get, this seems to be a commentary on how our resources aren’t infinite and that if we keep going down this path, there won’t be enough to survive in the end (for example, deforestation.) It also seems to be speaking about how there are two ways to handle this problem: either everyone can sacrifice their comfort for the good of everyone else, or be selfish and sacrifice everyone else for your own needs (as shown with everyone being willing to feed the flame with part of their body, except for the big one.)

I really loved this video, despite how morbid it is. Short animations like this that tell an interesting little story without mentioning much is one of my favorite. This video also achieved making me feel a bit sad for the sticks and logs having to endure the cold...and the eventually conclusions. Such isolation, one can only wonder what it must be like...

I personally felt that this was about how they all got caught up fighting with each other, while ignoring the bigger picture. I feel like this is usually what governments do with propaganda here n there, they divert our attention from real problems like poverty etc

My takeaways: 1. Stop deforestation 2. Stand up to bullying 3. Find the source of your problem (tree cutters cutting down the trees), don't just treat the symptoms (finding wood to keep warm)

It's oddly sad and inspiring at the same time, what dilemma of emotions well done :\

Really? I took it to mean that he’s doomed, anyway, because the bigger threat is the logger. It’s surviving the zombie hoard INSIDE your house, only to look out the window and see that there’s endlessly more OUTSIDE, and that you aren’t going to make it in the long run.

Plot twist, this is a cycle. Little twig finds new friends after trees get cut. Twig gets cold, friends make fire. Friends fight eachother for warmth. Twig makes it out and starts again. Plotter twist the Twig is a scheming mastermind
