This is the moment Ukrainian soldiers destroy a column of Russian tanks and armoured vehicles on a rural road.
The battle group K2 of the 54th Mechanized Brigade, part of the Ukrainian Ground Forces and Operational Command East, joked that the “tourists” came to the country in “heavy equipment” instead of visiting “to relax”.
The K2 Battle Group said on 10th May: “We want to tell and show you a story, dear Ukrainians. It was one spring morning in the territory of our native Ukraine. ‘Tourists’ came to our country, but not to relax, instead to trample on our roads with heavy equipment.
“However, the ‘tourists’ did not know that the road was made by members of the K2 group with the help of other highly skilled workers.
"The road was not good quality and the equipment broke down, and in our state there are no service stations for such vehicles.
“This happens when you visit us without an invitation. Glory to Ukraine!”
Local reports said the attack took place in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk Oblast, adding that K2 soldiers “punished the occupiers for their impudence”
During the attack, Ukrainian anti-tank sharpshooters seem to be able to pick off the tanks and armoured cars at will.
At one point, one tank can be seen in flames as it tried to get off the road.

Former Army grunt here, as well. Ukrainians are using many of the same tactics insurgents used against us in Iraq (and Afghanistan, but I never deployed there). As the VC, the IRA and Al Qaeda have shown, guerrilla warfare can be extremely effective. I'm surprised there aren't more IEDs. A large mechanized army is vulnerable to them, especially mounted patrols.

A retired U.S. Army general who fought in three wars gave examples why a man would fight with BOLDNESS AND ANGER. The two examples on top of his list was, "A man will defend his homeland"; "A man will fight like a warrior without fear to defend one's family". The sad part about this war, no doubt to me is, that the soldiers joined the service to defend their country not to invade. I believe a lot of those men would not attack Ukraine unless forced to. @Richtofen Illingroth Thanks for the reply. Crimes, war or not, need to be prosecuted fully. The sad thing is that the soldiers probably can't help being there. I was drafted in 1969 but I was lucky and served in West Germany, in Karlsruhe. But I was forced to be there. You are right. We all are on Ukraine's side. They are fighting just like we would fight if we were invaded. I am 73 years old. I can't do much but if needed, I would go to Fort Campbell and wash dishes, scrub floors and even help care for the wounded. I would help in some way, any way I could. Roger Camp

DUDE they're losing like 50% of their assets???! This is insane, for any war... Insanely terrible. Imagine the time it takes to manufacture those tanks again. You'd at most, at MOST, never plan any engagement unless you suffer 10% casualties. This is just a complete and utter failure on their part. Thank god.
Hace un mesRrolf
@Robert Lutece Most of these "10,500" tanks are rusty hulls in storage depots, more often than not with all the valuable bits looted. A Russian officer of a badly hit unit blew his brains out when he tried to restock the tanks and learned that only 10% vehicles in their "reserves" were somewhat operational. The rest had all their electronics and optics stolen. Sometimes even without engines. And the only tank manufacturer in Russia stopped making new ones a month ago or so, when the supplies of imported parts ran out.

It was on the local news a week ago, Russia committed 120 battalions to the war. When attacked, Tanks are supposed to turn in the direction of the attack, for two reasons. Their armor is thicker in the front and two, to return fire, quickly and effectively. If you pour fire in the attackers direction, at the very least, they have to seek cover. The Russian tanks either bunched up (bad move) or scattered in ALL directions (again, bad move) Where were the tank commanders (NCO's) in all this?

a really impact footage, my respects for the Russian soldiers who chose to give their lives for their nation and carry out the orders of their commander without procrastination or doubt, that is, [to advance from A to B without going back or getting off the road due to the risk of falling into the mud.] Even so there is no sadness since it is the duty of the soldier, just as the fisherman chooses to go to the sea s risk or the sweeper to clean. the honor of soldier is exposes his life as part of the risk of a military career. Likewise, the Ukrainian army is intelligently defending its country and taking advantage of the rigid and inflexible orders of the Russian war experts.

War is not a game, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I'll feel free to find humor in the fact that Russian tank engineering combined with modern anti tank missiles has basically created a new sport of "how high can you fling the turret"

The Russian tradition and school of diplomacy is always willing to negotiate (especially in times of war) when its position is weakening and it is necessary to drag out time. The purpose of Rashi diplomatic negotiations is always to deceive the opposite side. That is why Bismarck uttered the winged aphorism “Treaties with Russia are not worth the paper on which they are written.” Now Macron has already begun to swing the topic of the need for negotiations, once again putting on the plumage of a dove of peace at Putin’s request. Why did the president of the bunker need negotiations right now? There are several reasons. He understands that Land Lease is fundamentally changing the situation of the balance of power in this war. A matter of a few weeks, and Ukraine will potentially be ready for a counteroffensive, which Russia will not be able to resist with conventional weapons. Within a few months, the terrorist gang of rashists will be expelled from the occupied and annexed territories of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Putin needs time to establish logistical routes and bring up fresh weapons and manpower.

What was impossible during ww2, a few guys attacking and destroying a armored column, is now possible with these portable missile launchers. The face of the war is completely changed. Hace un mesMike Brown
@Artemis Yes, I think Russian military has very bad command and if you had US military attack Ukraine instead of Russia things would look a whole lot different. Tanks would be used- but in a different way and at the right times with the right support. US would have total 100% air superiority and Ukraine wouldn't be able to move a tank or mass 1000 troops in the open without getting hit from precision air. They would be broken down into insurgency , but US would basically control entire country and could go basically anywhere or do anything it wanted. Russia has bad air too.

The war in Ukraine has completely changed the battlefield. Mass use of drones, both observation ones - providing bearings and coordinates to artillery and combat computers, which directly destroy Russian vehicle and tank columns, making the tanks practically defenseless toys. It is not even the Ukrainian aviation and it is the drones that are winning the war with Russia. And surprisingly, they are murderously accurate and effective. Drones bought for several hundred dollars in a sports store after "garage" modernizations become a deadly weapon that destroys Russian equipment worth millions of dollars. Bravo Ukrainians !!! Slava Gierojam, Slava Ukraine !!!!

I wish I could celebrate this. But it is a needless tragedy for everyone involved. I stand with Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 I am still sad for the kids in those tanks.

Every one of those kids is a volunteer. Each day they can quit.

My favorite part is when they see the tanks in front of them get hit, they just sit there and wait for theirs.

Helpful hint for armored crewmen: "DON'T drive to the site of an explosion! The next one, may be YOU!"

More helpful hint: Do not invade other country or you might get killed.

After viewing this carnage something similar came to mind of devastation and destruction brought upon the enemy, ending in a tremendous loss of machine and personnel. A US Naval air battle during WW2, The Great Marianas Turkey Shoot!
