Its nuts. In the last 1:11 of live play no Bull touches the ball but Michael. He got a rebound, 2 free throws, a quick score, a steal and a game winner. The amount of pressure he played with and accepted is insane. His teammates allowed this because they knew he would bring them home in the clutch. How could his GOAT status ever be questioned?

There is no question. A player playing a higher than other players playing at the highest level. Stockton and Malone are both Hall of Famers--known for doing exactly what Michael Jordan prevented them from doing that crucial strip in the paint. People hated playing Stockton b/c his maximum intensity and stamina every second he was on the court; people hated playing Malone because he's closer to an NFL Tight End that makes the space around him his. Michael took all that away. At the most critical point, in the most critical game of the season. Michael's the guy who beats the best. Agility that can't be outrun, physical strength that can't be bullied by someone more muscular, and endurance that affords him with tenacity that other players cannot match. If the game has changed, and Michael played today, he would be the guy in your face preventing you from doing the thing you are good at--doing so for the entire game. The Sports Illustrated most fit athlete by sport--shows what you think would be an interesting topic and turns it into a cartoon capitalizing hype surround the game and its personalities. You can bench press more than Michael Jordan--he'll still wrap you up in coverage; you can sprint the 40 faster than him, he'll beat you by a step into the paint and/or breakup your play; you can run a marathon faster--Michael Jordan toe crosses the finish first while everyone else thought it was over. He is a disruptor. Legend.

Hace un mes
M +3
That steal was absolutely brilliant. It's the perfect example of everyone playing their part, but Jordan completely playing his own game. He was supposed to break away. That's what every player does - stick with your opposing player. Jordan just stood there, looking at the ball. You can see completely how he just stood there, saw the ball, and fought against his own muscle memory and impulse to break away and play his part, but instead he ignored all that and went for the ball. It took Malone completely by surprise. Malone never expected an extra hand to materialize out of thin air. It was a beautiful, beautiful sight. Jordan just took the damn ball. And that was exactly why they won. The would have been 3 under had it not been for that steal. Even with Jordan's last basket they would have still be 1 under. That steal won the game in my opinion. It was brilliant!

The last 3 minutes of that game shows why Jordan is the greatest ever. They needed every point, he got to the line and made all 4 free throws, got the steal off his missed 3 pointer. And to not clear to get the steal from Malone was just having bball iq.I mean damn he played both sides of the court. BBall IQ, defense, offense and that killer instinct. I remember sitting in the living room at 16 , no finger nails left , praying MJ would make somethin happen. When he stole the ball from The mailman and came down and hit that jumpshot ? I didn't go crazy , I immediately looked down at the clock. I figured they'd left too much time for Karl and Stockton . I was wrong. Golden age of basketball right here in my eyes. I was blessed to get to watch this savant create a masterpiece every time he stepped on the court . Thank you Michael for all the great memories . #onlyonegoat

Phil Jackson talked about this in an interview before. He mentioned how Michael’s jumpshot hadn’t been falling this game, he was letting his hand go early and not following through. So when Bulls called the timeout at 41 seconds, he told michael as soon as you get the ball attack the basket immediately, don’t settle for a shot, then after you score (which I love how Phil was so confident predicting MJ would score), he told Michael that on defense Jazz are gonna run the cross baseline pick to Malone. Phil told MJ to come around and try to see if he can get a strip on the ball. Same play Michael goes down and scores, on a jumpshot I might add, which he makes sure to follow through lol. Crazy how in unison Phil and Mike were, Phil with the awareness and advice for MJ, and of course Michael went out and executed to perfection. Shows how much they both trusted each other.

The Bulls were just on another level...This wasn't a nailbiter to me when I was watching it. I knew they would probably win, definitely the series. They were much better in the last two minutes than any other team. Put another way, if they needed to score on the last few plays, they did . IF they needed to stop a team from scoring, they did. Plus most neutral fans (those outside Chicago and Utah) preferred the Bulls because they were more fun to watch. The series with the Pacers with Larry Bird coaching was a lot closer, as was the series with the Knicks when Pat Riley was coach... the one game they stopped four tries by Charles Smith from point blank to win the end of game 5 was the true difference and then they won the championship. ...Just spewing my mind and opinions in my old age, why hold stuff in anymore 😉😋

Legend.

That steal on Malone to set up ‘the shot’ is legendary, what a play 🔥
Hace un mesM +3

Same with Mike Tyson and Tiger Woods. Some athletes transcend their sport, and no one did that quite like MJ.

That steal on Malone to set up ‘the shot’ is legendary, what a play 🔥
Hace 29 díasScary Spider +7
9:55 This was the game winner. Jerry Sloan Dropped the ball as a coach. The play was designed to go to Malone and he put Hornacek next to him. This puts Rodman AND Jordan in position to double team were the ball is going. That being said; Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Kucoc and Harper were on the floor for the Bulls. Probably the greatest Defensive 5 in the game.

So he had 8 points and 2 steals in 2.5 minutes
Hace 3 añosMichael Michaelagnew +1
If Jordan would have won 5 more championships to make it eleven like Robinson who had 11 then I would agree. Robinson is the greatest player to ever play the game. Then its Jordan then Wilt Chamberlin who played against Robinson all those 11 years.

@Anthony Carlson but the point is, Jordan's team is stronger than the Jazz.
Hace 18 díasAnthony Carlson
@Love Except that the players didn't force a super team to try to basically buy a championship like in the modern NBA. Jordan also held himself AND his teammates to a crazy high standard He never expected anything from them that he wouldn't also give.

Oh people, turn back to our Lord in repentance, the Lord of the Worlds. Before we turn back to Him. He is the One who created us and to Him we shall return. Worship Him and Him alone. He is the only God, not 3 or 4. No sons, no partners. Whoever associates partners with Allah will be among the disbelievers. Allah is far above what they associate to Him. Peace be upon the one who follows the straight path. The path of Islam. I invite you to succes. Whoever rejects he will be accountable in the hereafter. Seek guidance from our Lord and do not die disbelieving. Surely, satan is an enemy to mankind. Believe in Allah and in His prophets and His final messenger Mohammed. Blessings and Peace be upon all of the prophets. Whoever reject prophets like Moses, Abraham, Jesus, Noah or Mohammed have surely disbelieved in Allah. Whoever rejects any scriptures send by Allah disbelieves. Oh people of the Book, Allah command us to follow his final Messenger Mohammed Peace be upon him. Follow the last revelation (Quran), were it confirms the previous scriptures. Allah only accepts the religion of Islam, full submission to him. So you may succeed! It will not burden you, it will make it easy for you... Incase you are a person who searches truth. Here. https://youtu.be/3_JcakBpoWA?t=39

the last minute sums up the Greatness of Michael Jordan for me & why I call him the best of all-time. He hit the quick layup, he then gets the most pivotal steal of his career, & hits the shot to go ahead in the NBA championship. It was a perfect ending to a player that captured the heart of the entire world! Man do I Miss him balling!

NBA has never returned to the 90's level. With w0ke virtue signalling and all that it's kind of over for the NBA. Not to mention that there aren't players worth watching. Lebron is good but he's not clutch and he's not really fun to watch. The whole game is ruined too now with it just being a 3 point shoot out.

LOL at Messi, he' s not even close to be the goat of his own sport in terms of skills, let alone the charisma, the drive, and the leadership, all things that Messi never had. MJ is another galaxy. Stockton and Malone were so good together. They came up short 2 years in a row to the Bulls and made deep runs in other years. If they had one more piece to take the pressure off of Malone and give Stockton more options I believe they would of won one of these years.

To do this in his final game as a bull is just incredible. He played every game in his final three championship years, three full 82 game regular seasons along with three title winning playoff runs. He was head and shoulders above everyone in his era. The term greatness is thrown around too freely these days, but he really was the greatest to ever play the game.
